Complimentary Services

Due to a impending relocation for my family further south in the Finger Lakes, all support group  meeting are temporarily on hold and will be re organized after our move.

Volunteer Work

I do occasionally work on a voluntary, no-fee basis for families in need. I attend approximately three births a year free of charge and offer my postpartum doula care without payment as my schedule allows. If you feel you or another family you know may qualify for this service you may fill out an application available by request or download. Please note: If a financially challenge family needs breastfeeding assistance it can be obtained free of charge through Le Leche Leauge or the Finger Lakes WIC office when the mother and baby are recipients of the WIC food package program.

Breastfeeding Support
I offer a monthly nursing mothers support group that provides an opportunity for nursing mothers in the area to come together and
support one another in the challenges that come with breastfeeding. I facilitate the meeting and provide relevant handouts and information as needed and desired. Mothers, the women supporting them, (sisters, mothers, or friends), as well as babies and children, are welcome at these meetings.

 Birth Discussion

Four times a year, I sponsor a birth-circle meeting for expectant mothers. There is no charge and snacks are provided. This is not a substitute for a childbirth education class, but a chance to meet with other pregnant mothers and talk about birth plans, babies and birthing. This is open to all expectant mothers and their partners if they desire, regardless if you are using me as your doula or not. It is preferable that older children stay at home for this meeting.

Postpartum Encouragment

I encourage mothers in the postpartum period to join us at a postpartum gathering which is held every three months. It is a time for mothers to share their birth stories, talk about postpartum adjustments and emotions and talk about parenting decisions, philosophies and questions with other mothers. Mothers from the prenatal period through mothers eight months postpartum are invited to join us. Babies are welcome but it is asked that older siblings stay at home. Mother’s partners are invited, but the group tends to be mostly geared to mothers themselves. Refreshments are provided. This group is open to the community.

 Lending Library

For my current, past and future clients (as well as those involved in the support groups) I have available an ever growing lending library of infant care books, birthing books, breastfeeding books and other parent/child related items including media resources.
