Midwives Attending Local Homebirths
Linda Schutt, BS, CPM, CM is the only midwife in the area that services Geneva with midwifery homebirth services. We are very fortunate to have her. Her office is near Ithaca and she has proven herself to be very generous with her time and attention spent with patients. 315-387-3591
Other Care Providers
Some of the care providers I have either worked with, or have heard good things about (for being natural-birth friendly and doula friendly) are Dr Susan Dantoni who is an OB with Fingerlakes Women's Health in Pittsford 585-586-3640. She delivers at Highland and is very open to intervention free birth.The Strong Health Midwifery Group is in Rochester and also delivers at Highland Hospital. 585-275-7892 These are midwives that work under an OB in an hospital setting. This set up is as close to a birth center as we get around here.
Back Up or Other Doulas Servicing this Area
Ellen Derby is located out of Clifton Springs and services similar areas as I. She is a Certified Birth Doula, a Certified Lacation Counselor and a Licensed Massage Therapist. 315-462-2200
Tara Rice is in the Farmington area, she is a "lay" doula and a Bradley educator. I find her to be very confident and knowledgeable. I enjoy working with her as back up. 585-398-3008
Donna Starr is located in the general area of Canandaigua. She is a DONA trained birth doula as well as a licensed massage therapist. 607-522-4593
Childbirth Educators
Patricia Predmore of Birth Matters! is a wonderful educator and her classes are a lot of fun. She is highly qualified and is certified in the Lamaze method. 585-223-6272
Tara Rice is a Bradley Instructor that is close to home. She is very approachable and enthusiastic about childbirth education. 585-398-3008
